The inception of the Retro Gaming protocol

Why Retro Game Themed ?

The design team went back and fourth with ideas of the theme for this protocol before finalising on the seamless Retro Game style you see on our websites user interface. But why ?

The obvious answer, Nostalgia. A lot, if not all of the team grew up and saw first hand the releases of some classic titles in the gaming industry. Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Street Fighter and Space Invaders but to name a few and we can all agree just the mere thought of them takes you back to "the golden years", the "simple times", graphics were low and life was good, many of us still living at home with parents with an obsession to get to the next level on our N64.

However, we can not contribute our complete love for Retro Gaming on solely nostalgia. With the lack of graphics there is some sensational game play and tactics required to get to later stages of these games. Take Snake 2D for example it gets to a point your entire brain starts hurting figuring out angles and your next move, simplistic game play is sometimes more intuitive than high spec graphics with a clear path or route. It can be said that due to the lack of graphics and lack of controls the player would have to use their imagination to fill in the gaps to make the experience ever more personal.

Finally, it must also be mentioned that these games came out in a era where online connectivity did not exist, if you wanted to play against you're friend you would have to rush home after school and get in as much game time as you could before it was time to go home. The thrill was intensified and the competitiveness was real, no one had an upgraded player advantage it was just you versus your friend.

The birth of the Retroworld Ecosystem

Decentralized Finance has made its way to the fore front of the crypto space and we have chosen to push the limits of on-chain development with our multi-chain farming offering.

After many months of development and tuning we have created an ecosystem that will enable yield farmers to explore and push the limits of what is possible.

We will operate a dual-token ecosystem including The Gamers Token (RETRO) and The Rewards Token (GLD). They will work in tandem and unison to provide a cyclical value accrual and distribution stream to keep all of our community engaged and most importantly earning. After observing the short comings of industry leading farms on both BSC and ETH we have eliminated the glaring downsides in intuitive ways :

• Constant token supply inflation : Combatted in a two fold manor - Separation of the Farming and Lead Token. Allowing for reward generation and distribution to be carried out in (GLD) whilst value accrual, governance (DAO) and stability are found in (RETRO)

• Reduction in rewards over time : Auto-burn function built into the (GLD) token to control the supply increase from block emissions (rewards).

• Lack of variety in pools : We will operate voting via RetroDAO ticket system for future pools to be added to both staking and farming.

• Opportunity cost of utilisation : We will provide a complete suite of defi tools for (RETRO) holders including access to our cross-chain Token Bridge (ETH to BSC, BSC to ETH), NFT Collectibles, Staking, Farming and also the ability to Borrow and Lend RUSD as part of our collateralised lending launchpad.

• Impairment Loss: The ability to stake the most popular tokens on BSC and ETH without the risk of IL is an important offering of all yield farms. Allowing for farmers to accrue value and earn rewards without exposure to volatile price movements. We will offer a multitude of staking pools that will run for set periods of time.
